The Pitt womens’ softball team begins NCAA tournament play tomorrow when they meet the University of California (not the real Pennsylvania one) at 3: 30 p.m. Eastern time on ESPNU.
Pitt is in a double elimination regional at Ann Arbor, Michigan. The other teams in the regional are Michigan and Oakland.
Pitt came up with two surprise victories in the ACC tournament and wound up in second place in that tournament to 7-time tournament winner Florida State. The Panthers and Seminoles were tied 2-2 until Florida State scored late in the game.
